Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window

A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.

"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This event does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
